The NTDNT Community Leadership Development Program by Samaveshak focuses on empowering youth and women from Nomadic Tribes (NT) and De-notified Tribes (DNT) communities to address gender and caste-based discrimination, as well as community issues. This initiative targets the integration of women into community groups and aims to increase the participation of youth and women in local governance structures.
Samaveshak actively engages with NT-DNT communities in 48 villages across Khatav, Javoli, Wai, Karad, and Satara groups, facilitating dialogues and mobilizing youth and women to address community challenges. Through training sessions, participants are equipped with leadership skills and provided with information on topics such as gender equality, constitutional values, and women’s leadership in Panchayati Raj institutions.
Advocacy efforts include campaigns at the village level to address issues such as proof of citizenship for nomadic communities. Samaveshak works towards obtaining citizenship documents for community members and raises awareness about government schemes available to them. These initiatives aim to increase community participation and empowerment among NT-DNT groups

NTDNT Children Education support class centre
In response to the challenges faced by Nomadic Tribes (NT) and De-notified Tribes (DNT) children, who often experience irregular attendance and discrimination in mainstream schools, Samaveshak has established the Mahatma Fule Support School Centre. Currently, the centre serves 185 enrolled children and is dedicated to achieving several key objectives:
Zero Dropout Rate: The primary aim of the Mahatma Fule Support School Centre is to ensure a zero-dropout rate among NT-DNT children from primary schools. By providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, Samaveshak aims to encourage continuous attendance and retention in formal education. Fostering Interest in Education: Through engaging and interactive teaching methods, the center strives to cultivate a genuine interest in education among the children. By making learning enjoyable and relevant to their lives, Samaveshak aims to inspire a love for learning and academic achievement.
Parental Sensitization: Samaveshak recognizes the crucial role of parents in supporting their children’s education. Therefore, the centre conducts sessions with parents to sensitize them about the importance of education and encourage their active involvement in their children’s academic journey. Elimination of Child Labor: The Mahatma Fule Support School Centre is committed to ensuring that NT-DNT children are not engaged in child labour. By providing access to education and raising awareness about child rights, Samaveshak aims to eradicate the practice of child labour within NT-DNT communities.
Sensitization of Teachers: Samaveshak conducts training sessions and workshops for teachers to raise awareness about the discrimination and challenges faced by NT-DNT children in schools. By sensitizing teachers, the centre aims to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
